BROUGHT TO YOU BY:
NOMINATE YOUR TEACHER OF THE MONTH
& CHECK OUT OUR CURRENT HONOREE BELOW
MRS. ELAINE WAUGH
KINDERGARTEN
GOOD SHEPHERD ACADEMY
“Hello my name is Elaine Waugh and I am a kindergarten teacher at Good Shepherd Academy in Kingston. I have been a kindergarten teacher at GSA since 2011, and have worked as a full-time teacher for the Diocese of Scranton since 2003. I also taught preschool and started my career as a substitute teacher. I wanted to be an elementary school teacher since high school and never really considered any other career. I thought teaching would be exciting and rewarding and it has been. I have a wonderful classroom aide, Mrs. Elena Wolanin, two fellow kindergarten teachers who are my colleagues and friends, Jess Lukatchik and Caroline Miller, and a terrific administration and faculty. It is truly an honor to be nominated for “Teacher of the Month”. The nomination letter brought tears to my eyes. I hope I can continue to inspire students every day! Thank you!”
Her nomination:
“I would like to submit Mrs. Waugh from Good Shepherd Academy for Teacher of the Month. She was my daughters kindergarten teacher last year, and she is truly everything you could ever hope a kindergarten teacher would be. She is humble, kind, thoughtful and deeply caring. What stood out most was the love and attention she poured into every single child. At the end of the year, she created a personalized binder for each student, filled with pictures of special moments and memories from the year. I can’t even imagine how much time and effort it took for her to carefully put those together. When I received it, I was brought to tears. It will be something I cherish for years to come. The impact Mrs. Waugh has goes far beyond the classroom. We are so grateful for her and the incredible start she gave our daughter at GSA. It would mean the world to me if you would consider her for this honor. Attached is a picture of Mrs. Waugh (right) and her class from last year – all girls! She embraced it and made the school year truly memorable for them!”
