Ariana Grande gave fans another look at her upcoming album Petal by posting short a cappella previews of two unreleased songs on social media. The clips introduced parts of the tracks oh well and freak, offering an early taste of the project ahead of its release.
The new previews highlight different emotions found on the album. Oh Well touches on leaving unhealthy relationships behind and finding peace after difficult experiences. Freak points toward themes of hope, renewal, and embracing a fresh start. Grande also included a few lyrics in her post, giving listeners another hint about the direction of the record.
Along with the music previews, Grande unveiled an alternate picture disc edition of Petal. The collectible version features new artwork and is available for preorder ahead of the album’s arrival.
Petal is scheduled for release on July 31 and continues the rollout that began with the lead single hate that i made you love me. With new music and additional album formats now revealed, fans have a clearer idea of what to expect as the release date gets closer.
